The first step on our 3 step approach process to improving the fire safety of your building. 

So you aren’t sure about the fire safety of your building, or you haven’t reviewed your fire safety in a while. Don’t worry, you have come to the right place. 

If you have the healthcheck, you aren't tied into getting the installations and maintenance, we will just provide you with recommendations based on a traffic light system (Green=low priority, Amber=Medium priority, Red=High priority). Red will be that it is dangerous, or that you are breaking the law unless you have the item seen to.

Do I need a Healthcheck by law?

From the 1st October 2006, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that the ‘Responsible Person’ of any non-domestic premises to carry out a fire risk assessment which will cover the measures to reduce or eliminate the risk of fire. The Healthcheck is a fire risk assessment. The full report will include images of observed issues, as well as our accredited team making recommendations which are based on a traffic light scale (Red - high risk, orange - medium risk, green - low risk) which is then passed back to you to take action.

Do you understand everything there is to know about passive fire safety? Can tell whether or not an aspect of passive fire safety, say a door in your property, is compliant? Is it meeting all the checkpoints that a Fire Door has to have, does it have fire rated sealants and glass?

If you have answered no then maybe a Healthcheck might be a good idea.

We are not forcing you into anything. A Healthcheck is purely there to help highlight what is and is not compliant about your property, giving you that piece of mind that your building is safe.

What if I had a Healthcheck and I still had a fire?

There is one thing that we need to make you aware of, Passive Fire Safety will not stop a fire from happening in your building, but it will prevent a fire from spreading and will help contain a fire once it does happen. This means your property will have less chance of irreversible fire damage, saving you money in the long run and will give people such as yourselves who are in the property time to escape. As well as giving fire and rescue teams more time to get to the fire and providing them with a clearer idea of where the fire originated.

If you had a fire and you know that you had installations made on your property based on your Healthcheck, then you are in a position to say you are abiding by the law if your installations had been properly maintained and checked on a regular basis. 

If you did not have an installation based on your Healthcheck recommendations and there was a fire, they would look at what fire measures you have in place. Especially if you are dealing with the public, it is better to stay safe than sorry. A Healthcheck is there to help make sure you stay compliant. It is an expertise guide based on our first-hand experience of your property. 

If I have a Healthcheck, am I tied into having step 2 and 3?

Through having a Healthcheck, you are not tied into having step 2 Installations and step 3 Maintenance. Your Healthcheck is just a detailed report that is provided to you at the end of the inspection. After our team has done an inspection of your property from head to toe, after every aspect of fire safety has been checked, it will all get compiled into a report which is then yours to keep. This will include a photography report to show you where the issue was found, and a scale of priority of the issues that were found in your property.

This is then yours to keep. You can either stay with us and we can move you onto the second step based on what you want doing from the report, or if you know other passive fire safety installers, then that is down to you. 

By using us through to step 2 and 3, it is saving you time and stress as we will do everything for you. We will keep you updated throughout the process and will stay in close contact with you to arrange installations in your convenience. We just want to help make your property compliant and help raise awareness of the importance of Passive Fire Safety.

What sort of prices do you charge?

We are fortunate to have worked with a range of clients, from large organisations, to medium and small businesses. Our pricing strategy is based around what our clients want and the style of the building itself.  

Our prices vary depending on size of the property or project and will be based on the sqm of your property.
