Chesterfield Borough Council - Passive Fire Prevention

Situation

Chesterfield was first notified of potential compartmentation issues by their surveying team in early 2019. They required Ventro’s services to help with both the surveying and the remediation works.

They found Ventro through the EEM framework and enquired about undertaking some compartmentation Healthchecks, which were carried out swiftly and thoroughly confirming that remedial works would be required in the roof space.

Solution

Ventro completed the project to a high standard and has continued working with Chesterfield to organise a resident engagement day. Additional projects have taken place since this first project, demonstrating Ventro’s variety of services available.

Procurement

A thorough and efficient procurement process through the Efficiency East Midlands framework enabled Chesterfield Borough Council to comply with OJEU regulations and Chesterfield's internal procurement process.

Compliance

Ventro improved the level of compliance by 90% and completed the Fire Risk Assessment actions in and expedient and timely manner.

Golden Thread

The asset data from the initial manufacturing process to the installation of the door, contributed towards the golden thread of information and helped move towards our Building a Safer Future commitment.

Residents

A clear and coherent communication strategy with the residents, led to them feeling safer in their homes and resulted in a 75% decrease in customer complaints.
